Public Speaking and Member of the Year Competition

The public speaking and member of the year competitions were held on Sunday 23rd November 2014 at Box End Park by kind permission of James and Hannah Barbour.
The competitions that took place included Junior reading, Junior speaking, Intermediate Brainstrust, Senior After Dinner Speaking and both Senior and Junior Member of the year competitions.

Their was a great number of entries and a high level of competition across the board.

Best Junior Speaker
The Junior speaking competition was judged by Lizzy Glanvill and Hannah Barbour and gave members some valuable comments.
The results from the Junior Speaking competition were as follows:
1st Blunham
2nd Silsoe
3rd Leighton Buzzard
4th Woburn
5th Blunham
The intermediate Brainstust competition was judged by Paul Glanvill and James Barbour and the teams were placed as follows.
1st Woburn
2nd Leighton Buzzard
3rd Silsoe
4th North Beds

Ben Smith from Woburn was awarded the best intermediate speaker.
The Senior after dinner speaking completion was judged by Tom Wisson and Toni Wise and is one that is always looked forward to and not without a few laughs.

The results for the Senior Speaking Competition were as follows:
1st Woburn
2nd Biggleswade
3rd Leighton Buzzard
4th North Beds
As well as the speaking competitions the Junior and Senior Member of the year competitions took place. Both competitions had a high number of entries both sets of judges David and Sue Anderson and James Barker and Debbie Felts had a full day of interviews.
